Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information GoSpotCamp collects for the public MVP, how we use it, and the choices available to users.
Overview
GoSpotCamp is a camping map product focused on helping people review public-land and free camping information. We collect limited account, usage, and submission data so the site can operate, moderate user content, and keep the map reliable.
Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account details provided through sign-in, such as name, email address, and profile image.
- Camping submissions, reviews, reports, edit proposals, and uploaded photos sent through the site.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as browser type, device type, and request logs.
- Approximate usage analytics and performance signals used to improve reliability and understand feature adoption.
How we use information
- To authenticate users and connect submissions to the correct account.
- To review, moderate, publish, reject, or remove user-generated content.
- To detect abuse, spam, duplicate submissions, and other misuse of the service.
- To maintain map features, troubleshoot errors, and improve product quality.
User-generated content
If you submit a review, report, edit suggestion, or other camping-related content, that submission may be stored together with your account identifier and moderation status. Approved submissions may be displayed publicly on GoSpotCamp.
Authentication and third-party services
The MVP currently uses Google sign-in for account access. When you sign in, GoSpotCamp receives basic profile information made available by Google. Map tiles, hosting, analytics, storage, and authentication infrastructure may also be provided by third-party services that process limited technical data as part of operating the site.
Cookies and similar technologies
GoSpotCamp may use cookies or similar technologies for login sessions, theme preferences, security, and basic analytics. Disabling cookies may affect sign-in and some interactive features.
How long we keep data
We keep account and submission data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the MVP, preserve moderation history, investigate abuse, and satisfy legal or operational needs. We may remove or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.
Public map accuracy
Camping conditions, closures, fees, and access rules can change quickly. User submissions and official-source sync history may be retained so the site can explain why a spot was shown or reviewed at a given time.
Your choices
- You can choose not to submit reviews, reports, edit suggestions, or photos.
- You can stop using the sign-in flow at any time.
- You can request account or content review by contacting hello@buildonlabs.com.

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, moderation flow, or infrastructure changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
